Commerce refers to a negotiated exchange of goods or services. Electronic commerce (e-commerce) on the other hand refers to the application of electronic technologies to conduct business, usually on the World Wide Web (WWW) or over the Internet. After the Internet became publicly available in 1993, innovations revolving around it led to the emergence of e-commerce in the second half of the decade between 1990 \u2013 2000.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Ce premier commerce \u00e9lectronique a conduit \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation du terme \u00ab point-com \u00bb, utilis\u00e9 en r\u00e9f\u00e9rence \u00e0 une entreprise qui exer\u00e7ait ses activit\u00e9s sur Internet. La vague initiale de dot-com a marqu\u00e9 une nouvelle aube jusque-l\u00e0 inconnue, lorsqu'une alternative aux anciens \u00e9tablissements commerciaux traditionnels a \u00e9t\u00e9 confront\u00e9e pour la premi\u00e8re fois \u00e0 leur grave menace : la plate-forme de commerce \u00e9lectronique. La premi\u00e8re vague de commerce \u00e9lectronique qui a d\u00e9but\u00e9 dans les ann\u00e9es 1990 s'est termin\u00e9e en 2000.
